Which founder documents should I prepare?

The employer NOC condition concerns a private-sector employee at application; it is not a requirement for every Bahrain resident. Check how the condition applies to the applicant.

  • Passport and any applicable Bahrain identity details.
  • Contact and address information requested for the application.
  • Authorisation for representatives or signatories where applicable.

Can foreign documents use an apostille?

Bahrain’s participation in the Apostille Convention took effect on 31 December 2013. Covered public documents may use an apostille where the Convention applies between the issuing jurisdiction and Bahrain.

Check the document type, issuing jurisdiction and Convention scope. Documents outside that scope may require another authentication or legalisation process; do not assume every foreign document needs the same embassy-attestation chain.

Must every document be translated into Arabic?

Under Article 28 of MOIC Order 126/2016, commercial-registration submissions may be in Arabic or English. Documents in other languages require an Arabic or English translation. Notarisation requirements are separate and should be checked for the document concerned.

Which company and address documents may be needed?

What registrations should be checked after formation?

Check employer and employee registration with SIO at the applicable commencement or coverage trigger. Assess VAT registration using current NBR rules. These obligations should not be reduced to a universal deadline measured from CR issuance.

Does Bahrain reject all apostilled documents?

No. Covered public documents may use an apostille where the Apostille Convention applies between the issuing jurisdiction and Bahrain. Check the document and Convention scope.

Should I send original documents immediately?

First confirm the checklist and submission method for your application. Keep originals available and ask which copies, translations or authenticated documents are required.
